No polka here, folks! The source of another work in progress, but an almost done work in progress :)

If you haven’t noticed by now, working on artists’ stuff happens to me my favorite genre of project. This one, I have to admit, has been one of the most enjoyable and fun solo jobs that I’ve had. Subject = accordion. The challenge = smash perceptions. As presented by the uber-talented musician, Rachel Bell, my challenge has been to make people re-think everything they’ve ever known about the accordion. As expressed by Rachel, herself, “An artistic defiance of that stereotypical accordion image—the dorky one that’s full of polkas and lawrence welk, and all that—which is basically what my whole accordion career has been about…being on a mission to show people that accordion can be groovy!”

Well, I’m on it, and above is what I’ve got so far. The concept of “accordianic experience” came to me as I was reading an article about organic foods, so a suitable play on words ensued. Stay tuned for more changes, as I feel I’m not quite 100% there with it, but it’s close.
